I decided to give The Dance Floor a second chance, so I watched the Disco round last night on telly. It was painful to watch. However it wasn’t really the dancing that irked me, but rather the music. Oh but this doesn’t discount the fact that most sucked at disco. (or maybe even dance in general)
It was during one team’s performance on a ’Kylie Minogue’ number when Joan said: “do you realise it’s not kylie minogue singing?” me: “erm.. OH YAH! But why?!?!!” Joan: “cos mediacorp didn’t pay for the rights to use the original…” And that was just one out of the many remakes! It really didn’t help that they were all dreadfully sung. No wait.. they practically melted the wax in my ears. It was the equivalent of hearing tan ah lian’s rendition of Whitney’s I Have Nothing being blasted at some pasar malam. Such things should be made illegal. Bah! Channel 5 stinks.

HAHAHAHA! you know something terrible? my dad bought a pirated version of the bee gees from some road side stall ages ago. when my mum popped it in the player, the music that played was a FAR CRY from the real thing! it was so bad that it was actually funny. and i can’t stand the dance floor…i switch to starworld at 8 to catch AI instead! my mum watches the dance floor and she was lamenting that the dancers couldn’t dance disco for nuts too!!!
and it’s always good seeing you too! and taipa! helloooo! *waves* we should reallyyyy meet up for late night tea very very very soon!

hey lbn! i know you can totally relate to this entry cos we both love and have respect for oldies! and yes i can’t stand the dance floor either *bleah* ooh! taipa and i love HK cafe and siglap too! we’ve spent quite a few suppers at HK cafe and at various cafes/eateries along siglap.. something can definitely be arranged
