Today I purchased a company law text I’ve been trying to get my hands on through Kinokuniya’s website. I searched the website with the main intention to check if the bookstore stocked the book I wanted. To my delight, I could purchase it online, and because my purchase was above $50 I was entitled to a free delivery service! Brilliant! I love online shopping for the fuss free convenience it provides. However it can’t quite beat spending a leisurely afternoon in the bookstore, weaving through the many bookshelves and having an excuse to buy a new novel just cos I can’t put it back down. But in times of frantic desperation, the internet will suffice, so yay for the internet! It saved me the hassle of having to trudge down town.
On a more exciting note, I finally bought tickets to watch The Phantom of The Opera! I had almost given up hope on catching it for various reasons. Initially it was money woes and subsequently I was only left with performances which clashed with my exam dates, cos earlier shows were either completely sold out, interfered with my revision workshops (yes even my sundays and saturdays are burnt up in school!), or the remaining seats were too expensive or had a restricted view.
Two days ago I received an email from sistic informing me that POTO is having a final extention of their run at the Esplanade, and by some miracle the last two performing days happens to coincide with the long (3 week) gap between my third and final paper. I thought to myself, if I don’t grab this opportunity I’m going to regret it and beat myself up each time I’m reminded of my stupidity.
Thankfully, Andy who hasn’t been too psyched about the whole POTO hype eventually caved in to all the publicity that Mediacorp has been stirring. I know he isn’t big on musicals, and even more so after getting burnt by his experience at Cabaret. I had to convince Andy that POTO is nothing like the mediocre standards of Cabaret, for starters this is freaking Broadway and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s work we’re talking about! I know part of the reason he’s willing to watch the musical is because he knows how badly I want to watch it, and for this I’m truly appreciative and touched. I love you Andy! I’m now $137 poorer but I know its money well spent. Can hardly wait!
NOTE TO TAIPA: YOU WON’T REGRET IT! POTO IS AS SHIOK AS PASSING YOUR DRIVING TEST! hahahahaha.
and brownie points to you for being a sweetie!
